Good group. Seriously needs updated inside. Been around since the 80, time for an overhaul!! Our guide was awesome, as was the others, bus ride is fairly short.
Pictures are great and decently priced when on sale. Overall a good experience. Just be prepared to wait to get going!

we loved our ride!! Emerson was an excellent guide, and provided a lot of entertainment and (somewhat questionable) facts about the river. the trip had a good combination of difficult rapids and calm waters. we can’t recommend A1 enough!

We had a great time with 16 of our family members taking this rafting trip. The guides were knowledgeable and made the trip down the river fun. It was about an hour from Estes Park where we were staying to A1. Be sure to wear water shoes or a pair of tennis shoes that are light weight. I recommend taking a towel, definitely sunblock and change of clothes. There are changing rooms there and the water was pretty brisk. A good time was had by all.

Had a super fun time. Emerson was an awesome guide. They did us a favor that they didn't have to that made everything go super smooth. Really enjoyed this trip with these guys. Thanks.

Booked with A1 to show my friend from out of the country a little adventure in the Rockies. First impression was less than stellar from the gals at the front. The first gal I talked to (didn't catch her name, but was wearing a pink t-shirt and has black hair on 7/28/19) was very rude in her responses to my questions. Perhaps she should be trained on what good customer service should look like. However, the second gal who helped us out with the forms and renting some gear was great!

Once we got out on the water the experience was much better. Our guide, Sam, was awesome! Our trip was his first with customers, in which he had to deal with other people in the boat who were not coordinated enough to raft well. Even when he fell out during one of the rapids he was still on top of it. I would rate 5 stars just for him!

Overall, I would recommend A1 for a fun trip down the river - just don't expect too much from their front desk employees. I will probably not book with them again, instead heading over to A Wanderlust Adventure, which is another great rafting company in the area.

A1 wild water made our 1st white water rafting trip a success. We were given ample instruction and the staff made sure all of our equipment was put on and fit correctly before the trip. Our guide was Dylan, he was knowledgeable gave clear and accurate instructions and we had a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend them to anyone! 👍

Our party of six 50-year-olds had an awesome time with our guide Will Gray on the Wild & Scenic trip in early July. We had our concerns about the high waters levels since we were all new rafters, but felt reassurance from the A1 team during multiple phone calls prior to our reservation date and we were told we could switch to the easier trip if we decided it was too much for us. Being fit for our age and wanting some adventure, we ended up with the original plan and we couldn't have been more pleased with our decision. First of all, Will was an INCREDIBLE guide...he thoroughly covered all of the instructions prior to setting float, he loudly gave us the proper commands throughout the trip, he praised our teamwork when we made it through a tough stretch and he threw in just the right amount of corny jokes when we hit calmer waters. He warned us that it was very likely that we would have to go high side left on the last rapids, but due to his leadership, we made it through without a hitch and he was very excited for our accomplishment. Will was THE BEST guide for our group and we highly recommend him! The scenery along the Poudre was spectacular so don't forget to take it all in! Overall, the operation was run very well...check-in was smooth, rentals were easy and the pre-rafting instructions were well done. The only suggestion would be to have more than one person creating photo CDs/flash drives for those purchasing photos so that the waiting time is shorter. The pictures were reasonable priced (one CD with 4 photos for our group of 6 to share for under $40) and very high quality with lots of different shots from which to choose . We were so happy to have some documentation of our wild & scenic adventure with A1 Wildwater!

I strongly recommend A1 White Water Rafting. Everyone is so nice and accommodating!! We planned to go white water rafting while in Colorado so I called around to a few places and by far A1 was the nicest on the phone. They explained everything so we could plan our trip accordingly. We had so much fun we decided to do it again a few days later.

They really appreciated that we returned and a few employees even remembered our names :)

The price is about the same as the others in the area. The price of the photos afterwards was great. Usually that's an opportunity for companies to rip you off but they were very well priced.

We went whitewater rafting in July 2019 with A1 Wildwater. We couldn't have had a better experience! We were nervous about rafting with our 8 year old, but we felt very safe with our skilled guide, Will. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend

My family of five rafted on Wednesday.
Our guide, Matt, was telling jokes between rafting instructions.

We were a strong group overall , my family of five fit,, physically strong, and capable. I do believe Matt was able to chill for the most part, because we were capable, and he did not have to work hard.

At one point early on he did a back flip off the back off of the raft , leaving the rest of us floating away. I was surprised he did that, thinking ‘what if he didn’t get himself back in this raft?’ We were depending on him for a good time, but more importantly, our safety. As he scrambled to swim back, I reached my oar out to assist him. He declined, swimming and hoisting himself into the back of the raft.
I felt that was irresponsible, at best, but no harm done. So I let it go quickly.

He continued to crack jokes as we moved along.

We had to leave the water, get back on the bus, and re-enter the water again downstream from a section that was deemed too rough.

The second part of the trip he continued to tell jokes and give some other tidbits. A personable enough guy, I will give him that.

We were quickly approaching the bridge up ahead, yet had plenty of time to be told what to do. We were waiting for instruction. My mind said, ‘why is he not saying anything’ as the raft rotated from head-on to a broadside position. As that occurred I was sure he would be instructing us soon. Only he didn’t. He said NOTHING. When it was obvious we were going to crash, he said something like ‘well, nothing to be done now’.
My husband, who was seated next to him, followed that up with oh no, oh no, OH NO! A direct broadside hit into the middle concrete pylon, and everyone was ejected from the raft into the 48-degree swiftly moving turbulent water. It was surreal. And could have very easily been avoided.
Too bad he was too busy telling jokes instead of paying attention. We paid for his mistake.

He failed to guide at a most crucial time, endangering all of our lives. He never showed his face afterwards. Never inquired into how we were. Never apologized.
This is unacceptable and irresponsible behavior for someone who is entrusted with the lives of other people, and failed to do his job. Where the hell was his attention as we approached the pylons! Obviously not with us.

We were the last group of a total of four that had launched at the starting point.
After ejecting and popping up from the turbulent water, I caught a glimpse of my husband and someone else swiftly passing me by, a look of stark terror on his face as they headed towards rougher rapids. My son-in-law shot by me in the swiftly moving water, too, looking backwards for his wife, my daughter. The look of panic in his eyes will never leave me. My son and the two others, as well as our guide, who rounded out our boat of eight, were nowhere to be seen.

At that point, I was busy trying to save my own life as water crashed over my head, and threatened to carry me into the rougher water. Good swimmer or not, you are basically helpless in these waters.

Fortunately, one of the other three rafts was on the left, waiting and mostly stationery, and I was able to lean hard-left, extend my oar, grab on to a back handle, and be hauled in.

The rest of my family, minus my son, went further downstream in the water until they were rescued by the two guys in the yellow raft in training. My son made it to shore by himself.
My husband had a bloody nose and bruises, my daughter broke her middle finger (seems appropriate), the rest of us bruised from hitting rocks. and we were all grateful to be alive.

We had a great time rafting with Kumar as our guide. I've gone rafting a few times but this has got to be one of the better experiences I've had. First time I bought the photos afterwards. They had a great photographer and provided some really great pictures.

This group is amazing!!! The equipment was highly functional, it was tested by people who were flyng from their raft. The guides made the trip safe and cracked jokes non-stop. It was also crazy exciting!! Our raft sufficiently rowed and liatened to the orders so our guide steered us into as much white water as he could. Finally, the pictures were a little pricey but phenomenal action shots, so I bought a 40$ package for my buddy's birthday.

Thanks Hunter (our guide) and A1 for a great adventure white water rafting! It was one of the most favorite things our family did while visiting Colorado. We were going to go horseback riding but decided to do this instead. So glad that we did!

KUMAR IS THE GREATEST GUIDE EVER!!
We had the best time rafting with him as our guide. Really enjoyed learning from him, and getting to know where hes been.
The provided lunch is A+ as well, we didnt know what to expect as a group of 7 going together. It wasnt anything super fancy, but definitely not just the run of the mill sandwhich and chips. Picked a great spot by the river for all of us to sit down, enjoy the company, the food and the view.

The guides were hilarious and made sure we all had a good time... the water was low (we did a late season trip), and they even made sure to run a couple of different sections of the Poudre with us so that we could hit a couple of larger rapids.

My friends and I had a blast (we were a mix of folks who are semi experienced on the water and some who were brand new), and it’s great to know that there are great options for rafting that are a little more convenient as a day trip from Denver.

These guys and gals do a great job of showing everyone a great time. The river guides are well trained and react professio ally when it is called for, but they also love to have fun and it shows in all they do. Very fun and entertaining day. If you've never rafted, these people will take great care to make sure you enjoy your first trip. If you an old hand at rafting, give these guys a chance to wow you.
